We are Janet Wright & Lorenzo Ross. We offer home dog boarding in our home in Chicago. We only board smaller mellow dogs under 30lbs who are cat-friendly for multi-night visits. We are big animal lovers and both work from home full time. Lorenzo is a graphic novel artist and writer, and I, Janet, am an energy reader and healer. We live on the northwest side of Chicago, in the Albany Park neighborhood on a quiet tree-lined street. We are very choosy about our dog clients as the harmony of our home and our own animals is very important.
Our pets are our "children" which include four rescue cats and our three adopted dogs Odie, Lily, and Herbie. Herbie is pictured above in Lorenzo's arms wearing his winter sweater. We adopted Odie in 2011 then Lily and Herbie in 2012 to complete our resident dog pack. Odie is our gentle leader, then Lily loves all dogs and Herbie is our tiny friendly lovebug, weighing only 7.5lbs. All our dogs are very good about sharing their mommy and daddy and home with our guest dog. It is nice for them to have new and returning friends. To help maintain a relatively calm home we will board dogs of up to two clients at a time, and only if we know the dogs & know they would be compatible with each other, our dogs, & our cats. If we do combine dogs you will receive photos and info on the other dog that is visiting at the same time. With us, your dog(s) receives plenty of attentive care both night and day in our home.
Pictured above on the couch is Lorenzo cuddling with all three of our dogs as well as one of our cats YoYo. Above on the right is me, Janet, holding our little senior Herbie as he looks out the front windows. For the maximum dose of cuteness be sure to check out the links on the far RIGHT of this page. They are packed with heart melting photos of our dogs, our guest dogs, our cats, and even our foster cat. Then if you think you are ready for even more cuteness there is a Blog and Videos page link on the left. That will take you to a page where you will find a link to our homedogboarding YouTube video channel.
Now just for homes with both cats and dogs, we also offer cat sitting visits while we are boarding your dog in our home. This way your dog gets round the clock love in our home, and your cats remain in their own environment with daily cat sitting visits.
Our dog boarding service was named after and inspired by Barney, our senior rescue beagle who passed away in 2010 at the age of almost 14 years, under doctor's care. Barney had a very delicate people-loving spirit, and he is pictured above with me, Janet, on the couch at our former apartment. It was through him that we realized what a needed and amazing service it is to offer home dog boarding.
